Rule and schedule changes for the
2009 Muskogee Regional Jr Livestock Show
  
  • ALL Nominations and entries are due the same day December 17, 2008.
  • Nomination guidelines:
    Lambs – hair sample (DNA)
    Market Goats – hair sample (DNA)
    Doe Kids – hair sample (DNA)
    Steers – hair sample (DNA)
    Commercial Heifers – hair sample (DNA)
    Registered Heifers – hair sample (DNA), tattoo read and recorded. If a legible tattoo is not present, a MRJLS nomination tag must be attached. Birthdate and breed must be recorded on form. Registered heifers must be nominated by December 17, 2008.
    Hogs – hair sample (DNA), tagged, ear notches read and recorded. Hogs must be ear-notched to be eligible to nominate. If hogs are not ear-notched at the time of nominations, the county nomination committee must ear-notch before they can complete the nomination on that animal. Forms on hogs without ear notches will not be accepted.
  • Animals must be nominated and entered to show. NO EXCEPTIONS! Entries in all divisions must be postmarked no later than 5 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2008.  All entries must be accompanied by the following fees:

                              $15.00 per steer
$15.00 per heifer

                              $10.00 per hog

                              $10.00 per lamb

                              $10.00 per goat

  • TAGS may be checked out at the Muskogee County Extension Office beginning November 24, 2008. If you would like to call and let us know the numbers you will need, we can have them ready for pickup. The number to the extension office is (918) 686-7200.
  • Animals must be nominated in the county in which the exhibitor is enrolled in 4-H or FFA. EXCEPTION: An on-site nomination day will be held at Muskogee Fairgrounds on December 13, 2008. This will be held for any exhibitor who missed their county nomination date. This nomination is only for participants of the Muskogee Junior Livestock Show. 
  • An official health certificate must accompany all show animals. The official health certificate must be issued within thirty (30) days of the event and shall be available at all times to the representatives of the USDA Animal Industry Division. All animals must be free of any infectious, communicable or contagious disease and if such a disease is found, it will cause for removal of the animal(s) from exhibition.
  • Exhibitors must wear a jacket of the appropriate color of the organization they represent, with an official emblem. The dress code will also be enforced during the premium auction.
