Nomination Guidelines


  1. Nomination and entries are combined:
    $18 per steer
    $18 per heifer
    $13 per hog
    $13 per lamb
    $13 per goat
  2. Forms, tags and DNA kits will be available at the Muskogee County Extension Office after November 28, 2011.
  3. Nominations must be completed by Monday, December 12.  Paperwork must be turned in December 12, 2011.  NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
  4. Procedure can be completed by:  Agriculture Education Advisor (FFA), County Extension 4-H or Agriculture Educator, or one appointed by Extension Educators named.  Both representatives must be present – FFA Advisor & Extension Staff to complete nomination process.  Process can be done by town, community and at youth's home if staff desires to go home to home.
  5. An on-site nomination day will be held at Muskogee Fairgrounds on Friday, December 9, 2011 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. This will be held for any exhibitor who missed their county nomination date. This nomination is only for participants of the Muskogee Regional Junior Livestock Show.
  6. The County Nomination Committee Chairman should complete the Nomination Tag Order Form with the assistance of the County Nomination Committee and make arrangements to pick up the tags.
  7. The Chairman of each County's Nomination Committee should return the envelopes, tags and fees no later than Monday, December 12, 2011. 
    NO EXCEPTIONS!
    Please make photo copies of all information before turning in to show officials.

  1. Lambs must have hair sample (DNA).
  2. Market goats and Doe kids must have hair sample (DNA).
  3. Steers must have hair sample (DNA).
  4. Commercial heifers must have hair sample (DNA).
  5. Registered heifers must be nominated and entered by December 12, 2011.  Registered heifers must have hair samples (DNA); if the tattoo is not present a MRJLS nomination tag must be attached;  if registration papers are not available at the time of nomination a MRJLS nomiation tag must be attached.  Birthdate and breed must be recorded on nomination form.  Heifers must be shown as nomiated.  If an exhibitor nominates a registered heifer without registation papers and would like the option ot show the heifer as commercial, in case registration papers are not received, heifer must be nominated as a registered and commerical with 2 envelopes and 2 fees.
  6. Hogs must be tagged, have hair sample (DNA) and ear notches read and recorded.  Hogs must be ear-notched to be eligible for nomination. If hogs are not ear-notched at the time of nominations, the county nomination committee must ear-notch before they can complete the nomination on that animal. Forms on hogs without ear notches or premised ID will be considered incomplete and will not be accepted.
  7. Exhibitors may nominate up to 10 animals of each specie; however, they may only show the same number that is stated in the catalog.
  8. OKC Nomination Tags will be accepted on animals that have completed the OKC Nomination process; however, those animals must still complete the MRJLS process.
  9. Animals must be nominated in the county in which that the exhibitor is enrolled in 4-H or FFA. EXCEPTION: An on-site nomination day will be held at Muskogee Fairgrounds on December 9, 2011. This will be open to any exhibitor who missed their county nomination date. This nomination is only for participants of the Muskgoee Junior Livestock Show.
